Impact of Divorce on Children: Tacoma & Pierce County's Premiere Resource for Helping Families in Transition

The growing issue of divorce in our society has an adverse effect on the entire family. Most notably are the children who are caught in the middle. In the divorce process, children struggle to cope with, and understand the emotions and insecurities divorce causes.

Child & Family Guidance Center's IMPACT of Divorce on Children program is designed to address this vital concern with care and expertise. In our four hour class we cut to the heart of the issues surrounding divorce and address the needs of both parents and their children.

Goals of IMPACT

· To be able to provide a healthy emotional environment for your children.

· For your children have a happy childhood feeling loved and cared for, and for

them to grow into happy, healthy adults.

· To understand the emotional and cognitive needs of children whose parents are

going through separation and divorce.

· To help your children understand and cope with your separation and divorce.

· To understand the common problems that divorced couples unintentionally create

for their children…and how to avoid them!

· To be able to help your kids even if your ex is undermining your efforts and

making things worse for the children.
